The Challenge
Take Back the Neighborhood (TBTN) is a youth sports charity founded by Sherman Cocroft, a former NFL Defensive Back who played from 1985 to 1990, intercepting passes from John Elway and Warren Moon. Sherman runs football camps and mentorship programs in the Santa Clara area, connecting young athletes ages 5 to 17 with NFL veterans. The organization needed a professional web presence to handle event registration, accept donations, and communicate their mission to the community.
Our Solution
We built a fully modern, clean website as a pro bono project because Sherman is a friend and does exceptional work empowering youth in the community. The site features event registration for charity football camps, donation links, a detailed profile of Sherman Cocroft and his NFL career, and sections covering the organization's core pillars: elite athletics, academic support, and community building. The design is bold and energetic, matching the energy of game day while maintaining the professionalism a nonprofit needs to attract sponsors and donors.
Key Deliverables
- Modern responsive website with bold, energetic design
- Event registration system for football camps
- Donation processing integration
- Founder profile with full biography
- NFL legends trainer showcase
- Core values and mission presentation
- Photo galleries of camps and events
- Mobile-optimized registration flow
Project Details
The site launched with the Super Bowl LX Edition TBTN Charity Football Camp, a free event at Santa Clara High School featuring NFL legends including Sherman Cocroft, Vince Ferragamo, Mike Alexander, Erroll Tucker, Reggie Stephens, Maurice Mann, Sam Kennedy, Ron Brown, and KC Clark.
TBTN's impact section presents concrete numbers: 500+ youth impacted, 100% graduation rate among participants, 15+ neighborhoods served, and 50+ active mentors. These are not aspirational targets. They are results from years of consistent community work.
This was a pro bono engagement. Sherman Cocroft does meaningful work in the Santa Clara area, and we wanted to give his organization the same quality of digital experience we deliver to paying clients. The full Esperte workflow applied: strategy, design, development, and deployment.
